ABOUT UGC NET
The CBSE (earlier UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research. The Test is conducted in Humanities ,Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Forensic Science, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science.
The CSIR conducts the UGC-CSIR NET for other Science subjects, namely, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences.
UGC NET SCHEDULE
CBSE (earlier UGC) conducts NET two times a year, in June and December. The notifications for ugc net exam for june and december are published in the months of March and September respectively .
NET RESULTS DATES
The result of June, UGC-NET is declared generally in the month of November. Similarly December, UGC-NET result is usually declared in the month of may. The UGC-NET results are available on cbse official page  www.cbsenet.nic.in
ELIGIBILITY FOR UGC NET
    Candidates who have secured minimum 55% marks in Masters Degree  for General category.

    The ST/S /PWD category candidates who have secured minimum 50% marks .

    Candidates who are appearing at the qualifying Masters degree (final year) examination may also apply for this Test.

    However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Masters degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/PWD (Persons with disability) category candidates).

    Appearing candidated must complete their Post Graduate degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required % of marks, failing which they shall be considered as disqualified.

    Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only.

    The students whose PG subject is not covered in the list of subjects given in ugc net website may appear in a related subject.

APPLICATION FOR APPEARING IN THE UGC-NET
The procedure for applying for UGC-NET is described in detail in the notification for ugc net. The notification is published in the Employment News generally in the months of April and October and is also uploaded on the official page www.cbsenet.nic.in
SYLLABUS OF UGC NET

All questions of Paper-II and Paper-III will be compulsory, covering entire syllabus (including all electives, without options). Syllabus of all NET subjects can be downloaded from the UGC Website wwwugcnetonline.in

SCHEME OF TEST
The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions as under:

Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated. 
Paper-II shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.
Paper-III will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks. All questions of Paper-II and Paper-III will be compulsory, covering entire syllabus (including all electives, without options).
PROCEDURE & CRITERIA FOR UGC NET RESULT
This will comprise of following steps:

Step I:The candidates are required to obtain following minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below:

Step II: Amongst those candidates who have cleared step I, a merit list will be prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by  candidates.
Step III:Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category), from the merit list mentioned under step II, will be declared NET qualified for eligibility for lectureship only.

Step IV:A separate merit list for the award of JRF will be prepared from amongst the NET qualified candidates figuring in the merit list prepared under step III. It may be noted that the above qualifying criteria decided by UGC is final and binding.
UGC NET CERTIFICATE
UGC NET clearing certificate in available online on website ugcnetonline.in                                      
In the case of non-receipt of NET certificate the candidates are advised to contact the Head, NET Bureau, UGC, South Campus, University of Delhi, Benito Juarez Marg., New Delhi. In their covering letter, they must state their Roll No., the date of UGC-NET in which they have appeared and UGC-Ref. No. Attested copies of the following documents may be submitted:
    Matriculation Certificate depicting date of birth.
    Master's degree/Provisional Certificate.
    Consolidated mark-sheet of Master's degree course.
    Caste certificate (only in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates)
  Certificate of Physical disability (only in case of Physically Handicapped and Visually Handicapped candidates).
    All certificate have to be attested by a gazetted officer

EXEMPTION (ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURESHIP)
     Candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions.

     The candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from appearing in NET, being eligible to apply for Lectureship anywhere in India. For SET held from 1st June 2002 onwards, the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer only in the universities/ colleges situated in the state from where they have cleared their SET.

AGE LIMIT FOR UGC NET
    JRF: Not more than 28 years.
    A relaxation upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/
    Three years relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates possessing L.L.M. Degree.
    Lectureship: There is no upper age limit .

For extra practice, you must test of your self by selecting some questions of UGC NET.

        In exam, attempt your UGC NET paper with full of logical information of your subject. you will get score to pass UGC NET exam.
